5 SPICES AGENCY
Digital Growth Assessment — Prepared for Los Cab Sports Club
Digital Growth Assessment · July 2026 · Confidential

Los Cab became the largest pickleball facility in California. The internet hasn’t noticed.

A club that hosted a PPA professional tour event still tells Google it has 22 courts. Brand-new badminton courts are waiting to be discovered. This page shows the gap between what ownership has built — and what the internet says about it.

Why we made this

To the Los Cab team —

My sister and I had the pleasure of painting a mural at your club. While we were there, I kept thinking I’d love to swim at Los Cab — but when I looked up membership that evening, I couldn’t find the information anywhere. I run a digital agency here in Santa Ana, so instead of letting it go, I kept digging.

The more I researched — the new chapter that began in 2023, the pickleball build-out, the PPA professional event, the badminton courts that just opened — the more obvious two things became. First: something rare is happening in Fountain Valley. Second: the internet hasn’t caught up to it yet.

Nobody asked us to build this page. We built it because what’s happening at Los Cab deserves to be seen — and because this is how 5 Spices works: we don’t recommend anything to any business until we understand it first.

What follows is that understanding.

We Wanted to Understand the Club First

Before recommending anything, we wanted to know where Los Cab came from, where it’s heading, and what ownership is trying to build. Here’s what we pieced together.

  • 1977Founded

A private club, and for decades the standard for family sports in Orange County.

  • 2023New Chapter

The club changes hands in a $27M acquisition. A transformation begins. source ↗

  • 2024Pickleball Waves

22 courts become 39, then 59. Los Cab hosts a PPA professional tour event — the largest pickleball facility in California. source ↗

  • 2026Badminton & More

12 badminton courts open. Sol Vida Café launches. 3 padel courts announced.

  • NowThe Gap

Millions invested in the club. The digital presence still tells the 2017 story.

The club transformed. The website didn’t.

Every wave of investment — pickleball, badminton, the café, padel — moved faster than the online presence could keep up. That’s not a criticism. It’s what happens when a team is busy building something real. But it means ownership is creating a first-class club while Google, the website, and every search result describe the old one.

Your longest-tenured members see it too — and they’re rooting for you. One public review, addressed to new management, celebrates the pickleball push and pleads for the club’s image to catch up, ending: “This sports club used to be rate no.1 in Orange County…” followed by four question marks. That member wants the club to win. So does this page.

What We Loved

The Scale

12+ acres. 59 pickleball courts. The largest racquet sports campus in Orange County — likely in California.

The Vision

Pickleball, then badminton, then padel — ownership is betting on exactly the right sports, years ahead of competitors.

The Team

A PPA professional event executed. Tournaments running. Members thanking staff by name in reviews. The people are doing their part.

The Community

4.4★ across 300+ Google reviews. Members who stay for decades — and the Vietnamese-American Pickleball Association chose Los Cab as its home courts and headquarters. source ↗

The Range

The county’s only private Olympic-size pool, racquetball, squash, fitness, events — no chain gym can match this.

This club deserves better than its search results. Everything below is the gap between what the team has built — and the digital infrastructure that was never given to them.

How Many Courts Does Los Cab Have?

Four different answers — all published by Los Cab. We understand why: the courts grew in waves, faster than the website. But Google doesn’t know that. It shows everyone the smallest number.

Tennis tells the same story: the website says 17, the membership page says 13, Google says 12 — and the 2023 sale announcement said 24. A story this good deserves one number, told everywhere, loudly.

What’s Waiting

Before the problems — the prize. This is what’s on the other side of the fix, ranked by how fast it pays off.

Open now — undiscovered

Badminton

★★★★★
  • The program is real — 12 courts, an academy, founding pricing, a July tournament
  • OC’s badminton talk happens in Vietnamese — and VAPA already made Los Cab its headquarters
  • But it all lives in flyer images Google can’t read, on a page searchers never find
Coming soon — first mover

Padel

★★★★★
  • Almost zero OC competition today
  • Waitlist + launch campaign before the courts even open
  • Own the search for years by being first
The crown jewel

Pickleball

★★★★
  • “Largest pickleball facility in California” is a headline no competitor can say — and it appears nowhere online
  • PPA-host credibility, unused in marketing
  • Leagues, clinics, and events as recurring funnels
Every season

Camps & Programs

★★★★
  • Summer camps, junior academies, swim programs — each one deserves a registration page parents can actually find
  • Today they live in image flyers Google can’t read
Already loved

Reviews & Reputation

★★★★
  • 4.4★ from loyal members — with no system inviting happy members to share it
  • Review growth is how the new chapter gets told back to the public
Supporting play

Sol Vida Café

★★★★★
  • Brand new, barely mentioned online
  • Its own Google presence turns a member amenity into a neighborhood destination
Highest revenue per booking

Events & Weddings

★★★★★
  • The Court and The Terrace host 250–600 guests — two full event venues
  • “Wedding venue Fountain Valley” is one of the highest-value searches in the county
  • Couples plan a year ahead and book on what they can find and see online
Membership value

Fitness, Spa & Pool

★★★☆☆
  • Gym, spa, jacuzzi, and one of the largest pools in Orange County
  • We would not chase “gym near me” — that’s a losing fight with the chains
  • But these are the reasons a family chooses Los Cab over a gym, and the website never says so

We Already Started

Los Cab already built a badminton page — a real program with real pricing. This is our concept of what that page could become: bilingual, Vietnamese first, using your actual program details, written so Google and the community can finally find it. Built before we ever spoke.

Cầu Lông Đã Có Mặt Tại Los Cab

Badminton has arrived at Los Cab — 12 new courts, open play, tournaments, and coaching for every level.

Why bilingual? Because Orange County’s badminton conversation is already happening in Vietnamese — in community groups, on Facebook, across Little Saigon. 5 Spices is a Vietnamese-American agency based in Santa Ana. We don’t translate to that community. We belong to it.

The First Impression

Members already know how good Los Cab is. Prospects judge in seconds — and what greets them first is a website from a different era of the club.

A 2017 Website for a 2026 Club

Los Cab homepage — dated design, content written for existing members
What it meansDated design, 40+ navigation links, event flyers posted as raw images — and content written for people who already belong: locker updates, member announcements, internal instructions. Useful for members. Invisible to the future members the club is investing to attract.

Slow on Mobile: 28/100

Google PageSpeed Insights mobile score for loscab.com — 28 out of 100
What it meansGoogle’s own speed test. A first-time visitor on a phone waits up to 9 seconds. Members have the site cached — the prospects the club is trying to attract don’t. run the test yourself ↗

Visible Errors

Visible errors on the Los Cab homepage
What it meansRaw code displaying as text on the page. Duplicated words on the homepage’s main button. Small things — that quietly undercut a first-class club in a prospect’s first ten seconds.

Joining Is Harder Than It Should Be

What it meansA contact form showing broken leftover fields. Pricing hidden behind a multi-step portal — while “how much is a Los Cab membership” is one of Google’s suggested questions about the club. People who already want in deserve a one-click path.

Smaller Clubs, Bigger Presence

The clubs winning these searches have a fraction of Los Cab’s facility — and a digital presence that runs circles around it.

Los Cab wins on everything that costs millions. It trails on everything that costs thousands. That’s the best problem a business can have — the expensive part is already done.

Twelve Months From Now

Today — and twelve months from now

Today
Twelve months from now
Four different court counts. Google shows everyone “22.”
One number, everywhere: the largest pickleball facility in California.
Invisible on the map for badminton, tennis, and swim searches.
On the map across surrounding cities — for every sport.
A real badminton program hidden inside flyer images.
Badminton launched in two languages, with the community that plays it most.
Padel: no page exists.
Padel: the first — and only — destination OC searchers find.
300+ reviews, with negative snippets sitting unanswered.
400+ reviews, every one answered — the new chapter told publicly.
Camps and programs living in image flyers Google can’t read.
Every seasonal program with its own findable registration page.

None of this requires more concrete. The courts, the pool, the café, the reputation, the team — ownership already built all of it. The only missing layer is the one that tells the world.

What the First 30 Days Look Like

No imagining required — this is week by week, working alongside your team.

Week 1Days 1–7

One True Story

  • Google presence rebuilt around the real club
  • Most damaging website errors gone
Week 2Days 8–14

Badminton Goes Live

  • Bilingual launch page published
  • Community campaign begins — Vietnamese & English
  • Review invitation system live at the front desk
Week 3Days 15–21

Visible in Search

  • Search listings show the corrected story
  • Weekly Google posts begin — events, open plays, café
  • Clear calls-to-action live on key pages
Week 4Days 22–30

Proof & Plan

  • Before/after report: searches, calls, direction requests
  • Badminton signups counted
  • Months 2–6 roadmap finalized with ownership and team

Every step is measurable. You’ll see it in your own search results before the first month ends — and your team gets the credit.

Questions We Couldn’t Answer

A week of research took us far — but not everything can be learned from the outside. We’d rather ask than assume.

Is 59 the final pickleball count — or is the club still growing?
When exactly do the padel courts open? A launch this good deserves a countdown.
Is Sol Vida Café open to the public, or members only?
How did the July badminton tournament go — and is a fall league the next step?
How much of the club’s revenue comes from The Court and The Terrace — and is event booking a growth priority?
Is the free trial pass still offered? It’s mentioned online, but we couldn’t find it on the website.
What does ownership consider success for 2026–2027 — memberships, programs, events, or all three?

These are the first things we’d love to learn in a conversation — because the answers change what we’d recommend doing first.

One Final Thought

When we finished this research, we weren’t thinking about websites. We were thinking: how does the largest racquet sports facility in California still look like a neighborhood club online?

The exciting part is that the hard work is already done. The courts are built. The community exists. The reputation is real. The team is delivering. The next chapter is simply making sure the internet tells the same story a visitor experiences walking through your arches.

Some of it is time-sensitive: badminton is open now, and padel’s first-mover window won’t stay open long. If any of this is worth a conversation, we’ll bring every screenshot on this page and the full list of what we found. Twenty minutes.
